Phoenix Systems recognizes that our work may have a direct or indirect effect on the local, regional and global environment. We are committed to reducing any harmful effects on the environment and promoting the understanding of sustainability in its broadest context. Phoenix Systems has undertaken efforts to reduce its carbon footprint in several areas including:

    1. Paperless Strategy
Phoenix Systems stores it's documents and business forms electronically, committing them to paper only when absolutely necessary. Phoenix Systems delivers its key business documents electronically reducing the amount of paper and electricity needed to print and store.

    2. Energy Usage
Phoenix Systems chooses energy efficient hardware such as printers that consume lower amounts of electricity. Automated thermostats are installed in the offices of Phoenix Systems to lower heating and air conditioning systems when the facilities are empty.

    3. Telecommute/Home Offices/Travel
Employees have the option to work from home offices reducing the dependency on automobile use. Additionally, remote support and training aids are used to reduce travel to and from client sites.

    4. Video Conferencing
All Phoenix Systems offices are equipped with High Definition Video Conferencing systems. This helps to reduce the carbon footprint of the company as it lowers its use of fossil fuels consumed by air travel.

    5. Passive Solar
Phoenix Systems with the support of the Ontario Feed-In Tarrif Program (FIT) will be investing in Passive Solar by placing solar panels on the roof of the head office in Newmarket to generate electricity. Excess electricity generated will be returned to the grid providing an environmentally friendly and renewable method of electricity generation.
